Victoria Park

Victoria Park is an inner city oasis-it’s hard to believe you are smack bang in the middle of Sydney city. Ideal for picnics or simply relaxing, the  huge park also boasts a network of paved walkways, large grassed areas, a lake with waterbirds and Victoria Park Pool complex, which features a 50 metre swimming pool, children’s wading pool, fully-equipped gymnasium, crèche, swim shop and café.

The large playground was upgraded in 2010  and local children were given a major say in the design with many of their suggestions including an all-abilities climbing net and accessible swing, flying fox,  double swing set, balancing beams, spring elements, spinning dish and pipe slide being integrated into the facility. There are also some great features for young children including a toddler’s tricycle loop, low barrier fencing around the toddler’s area and an easy to reach bubbler. The result is a really excellent playground with plenty of equipment ideal for children of all ages.

The downside to being in the centre of it all is that parking can be tricky - but the upside is that there are plenty of nearby options for a great coffee!
