Finding a good place to eat with your kids is tough, but a venue that caters for dietary requirements is even more tricky. Luckily, restaurants in the river city are slowly upping their game when it comes to gluten-free dining, and we have put together a list of the six best gluten-free dining options for kids in Brisbane.
Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen | West End
Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen in West End not only offers gluten-free options on their kids’ menu, but also has a kids’ play area, and donates 20c of each coffee to Paradise 4 Kids helping orphanages in Africa. Open until 3.30pm during the week and 3pm on weekends, it is the perfect place to grab a coffee or afternoon tea with the whole fam.
Charlie’s Raw Squeeze | Multiple Locations
With 11 locations and counting, you are bound to find a Charlie’s near you. Offering plant-based goodness with lots of gluten-free options. Plus, daily deals during the week such as two for one smoothies and juices on a Tuesday and half-price pancakes on a Wednesday — this is a great place to bring the kids for a mid-week health kick.
Miss Kays | Mitchelton
Miss Kays has multiple locations, but the one in Mitchelton is particularly kid-friendly (and dog-friendly, too!) with a large outdoor dining area and a Nintendo if they need entertaining. Located on the village-style high street, Miss Kays Mitchelton often has live music at the weekends and has a range of burgers and sides that can be made gluten-free.
Tiddlywinks Dance And Play Cafe | Nundah
Ok, so it is not strictly a dining venue. Tiddlywinks in Nundah holds daily discos for kids up to 11 years old, they also have an indoor play area and a cafe with barista coffee for the adults and gluten-free options for the kids. There are a few playgrounds to choose from depending on your kids’ age (kids must wear socks in the play areas). Prices are free for adults and under ones, $12.95 for under 4s and 14.95 for under 11s.
Caso Cibo | Chermside
With a dedicated children's menu that they can colour in while they wait for their food, Casa Cibo at Westfield Chermside is sure to be a family favourite. Located near the outdoor play area which is under the shade sails, you can grab a table outside and watch the kids play while you finish off your pizza and vino.
Paw Paw | Woolloongabba
Paw Paw in Woolloongabba is well-known for its inventive and mouth-watering cuisine, but did you know they have gluten-free options on their kids’ menu, too? Starting from $9.90, the kids can choose from dishes such as a cheesy omelette or ham and cheese toasty.
