Common Threads

How long is a piece of string?

This school holiday, create lasting memories at the Museum of Contemporary Art with Common Threads! Families of all ages are welcome to join their interactive installation, where you can play with soft materials like string, yarn, and fabric to add to an ever-growing tapestry.

All materials and instructions are provided, and children must be supervised by an adult.

10 am - 4 pm

Drawing with Place

Connect to place with the practice of drawing in this experimental new school holiday workshop.

During this School holidays: Drawing with place session, the whole family ar encouraged to harness their creative expression through in-gallery exercises, prompts and techniques to build their drawing skills. From here, an MCA artist educator will lead you to the creative studios to put your learnings to work, using collage and three-dimensional objects. Take home your final artwork, including a folded drawing book.

Suitable for 8–12 year olds with an accompanying adult/s. Materials provided.
