School Holidays At The Sea Museum

A visit to the Australian National Maritime Museum is one of our favourite things to do in Sydney with kids. Adventure awaits at the Maritime Museum this spring with a packed program of exhibitions, vessels, themed creative activities and hands-on workshops.

Discover treasures from the deep at the Australian National Maritime Museum these school holidays! Take an adventure and experience life on board a historical ship, navy vessel and submarine, and be inspired by the wonders of marvellous sea creatures and the cultural stories of saltwater through play, science and art.

There are also fascinating exhibitions currently on show at the Museum: Wildlife Photographer of the Year, featuring over 100 captivating images of animals and nature, and Mäṉa and Bäru, showcasing sculptures of the Sea Country of Guykuda Munungurr.

Creative children can get arty and crafty at the Kids on Deck activity space, tour the galleries with under 5s Mini Mariners, venture on a Sea Country activity trail and enjoy storytelling and weaving workshops in the museum’s new Bamal Gallery.

Older kids (8 - 14) will love the hands-on Young Inventors one-day engineering workshop or the two-day Rock The Boat music video workshop.

There is an ocean of entertainment for kids of all ages at the Australian National Maritime Museum during these school holidays.
