The heart of Bankstown's civic precinct has received a fantastic makeover with the opening of the brand-new, modern Ian Stromborg Playground that's set to become the ultimate destination for fun and relaxation.

Say goodbye to the old and hello to the new! Paul Keating Park has transformed into a vibrant oasis with a brand-new playground, water-play zone, youth activities, cool play equipment, shaded areas, and plenty of spots to hang out and socialise.

With a whopping $5.5 million investment from Canterbury Bankstown Council, this much-loved green space is getting a top-notch upgrade, making it the go-to spot in the Bankstown CBD.

What's On Offer at the New Ian Stromborg Playground

  • A bespoke ‘Banksia Pod’ play tower - the ultimate climbing and exploring experience.
  • Super slide - for all sorts of speeding and sliding!
  • Water play area - splash around and cool off in this fun zone.
  • Nature play elements - connect with nature through interactive play.
  • Hammock and hang-out spaces - relax and unwind in style.

The revamped play area will bring joy, adventure, and a touch of wonder to everyone's daily life, catering to people of all ages and abilities.

Other Exciting Upgrades

The eastern side of Paul Keating Park will also see more shade, additional seating, and sustainable features to use stormwater for watering plants and greenery. Plus, there's a new amenities building with convenient facilities for a hassle-free day out.

The playground officially opened on 29 July 2024 and is open daily.
