While the world is counting down the days to the 2024 Paris Olympics, one Aussie is counting down the years to the 2032 Olympics with one firm goal in mind: to make Bluey the mascot for the 2023 Brisbane Olympics!

Petition Launched to Make Bluey the Mascot for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics!

Meet Owen Kelly, a dedicated fan of the beloved children's TV show Bluey. He's spearheading a movement to make Bluey, the fun-loving blue heeler pup, the official mascot for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. And honestly, who better to embody the spirit of Australia than the world's favourite pint-sized pooch with a heart of gold?

How are Olympic Mascots Created?

Traditionally, Olympic host cities create unique mascots to represent their games. Remember Syd, Olly, and Millie from the Sydney 2000 Olympics? Or Lizzie from the Paralympics? These characters were crafted to encapsulate the spirit of the event and the country. But Kelly believes it's time to break the mould.

Kelly has started a petition to make Bluey the mascot for the 2023 Brisbane Olympics on Change.org and doesn't hold back in his persuasive points.

"Bluey is already an icon," claims Kelly. "Bluey has achieved international popularity, airing in numerous countries and amassing a wide fan base. This global recognition can enhance the Olympics' appeal worldwide and attract a larger international audience", he adds.

Bluey, along with her sister Bingo and the rest of the Heeler clan, has become synonymous with Aussie life. She's right up there with the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House as an emblem of Down Under. So, why shouldn't she have a starring role in the 2032 Olympics?

The petition has already gained traction, with thousands of fans of the show eagerly signing up to support the cause. The appeal of Bluey isn't just limited to Australia; her adventures have captured hearts worldwide, making her a perfect ambassador for the global stage of the Olympics.

Imagine the opening ceremony with Bluey leading the charge, welcoming athletes and spectators from around the world with her infectious enthusiasm and charm. It's a vision that fans are rallying behind, hoping that the Olympic committee sees the potential in this unconventional yet utterly perfect mascot choice.
