Step Into a Winter Wonderland at Adventure Park❜s Winter Glow

Winter can cop a whole lot of weather-related flack, and while we do acknowledge that it's cold, we reckon winter is a great time to rug up, get cosy and head out for some family-friendly fun. 

Topping our list of things to do in and around Melbourne this winter is Adventure Park's Winter Glow Festival, bursting with snow-related jollity without the hassle of lugging everyone to the slopes. 

Winter Glow Festival at Adventure Park

Geelong’s most epic winter festival is back! Adventure Park's Winter Glow is returning for the 2024 July school holidays, featuring the biggest snow play zone outside the ski resorts. From 22 June to 21 July 2024, families can enjoy snow, lights, fire, ice, and theme park rides in a fun-filled family festival celebrating all things winter. 

The Lights

Experience the magic of 3.3 million sparkling lights and over a thousand dazzling light installations at Adventure Park. Marvel at spectacular displays featuring animals, giant toys, enchanted gardens, fairy-tale scenes, winter wonderlands, and immersive tunnels. These jaw-dropping installations are perfect for capturing beautiful family photos.

The dazzling light installations include the Ice Castle, the famous Sparkle Archway, and the new 100m Lights Maze. Marvel at stunning ice sculptures and enjoy nightly fire-twirling displays—all included in your Winter Glow ticket at Adventure Park. 

The Snow

Visitors can revel in the magic of snow and build snowmen with 150 tons of machine-made snow at the Snow Play Zone. There are two exciting Snow Play areas: a large zone for all ages and a special junior area for kids under 5. The snow is made from frozen water, creating approximately 800 cubic metres of snow for the event, and, fun fact—that's about the same as 100 large tip trucks!

Leanne Salmon, Adventure Park Managing Director says "We’re so excited to be opening and making snow again."

 "We love bringing fun to winter and creating that warm festival atmosphere where visitors get a 360-degree event experience, which is totally different to our summer operations," Ms Salmon added.

The Rides

All entry prices include access to eight theme park rides: Air Balloons, Tea Cups, Ferris Wheel, Wave Swinger, Crazy Coaster, Red Baron, Carousel, and Little Buggy rides, plus mini-golf.

Kids can roast marshmallows over the fire and indulge in the ultimate chocolate treat with loaded hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows, chocolate bars, fairy floss, cream, and more. Adults can warm up by the open fire with spiked hot chocolate, spiced cider, or mulled wine while the kids play in the snow.
