Head to the city this morning for Dandy Lions, a weekly event for 2-5′s set in the magical The Royal Botanic Gardens and exploring garden-related themes with art and craft, storytelling, music and dance, garden walks & playtime. Spotlight on: The Holdsworth Centre Playgroup. The Holdsworth is a fantastic facility based in Woollahra for mums with babies and kids under 6. The large outdoor playgroup runs every weekday from 9.30am - 12.30am (except rainy days) with supervised craft tables, fenced play area and sandpit, plus 'Baby Day' an indoor playgroup for under 1's run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays at 9.30. Bring your Mini Explorer to the Australian Museum at 10:30 today where your preschooler will explore, investigate, learn and create – all to a special animal theme. Numbers are limited, so make sure you book ahead here. If you miss out, don’t worry-book now for next week’s session.
Things to do on Friday
Stay up late tonight and take the whole family to the city to see the Vivid Festival’s magical light sculptures around Circular Quay. From 6pm to midnight every night, there is a free light show with over 50 interactive and immersive light art sculptures, illuminated skyscrapers and large scale projections around The Rocks, Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and Walsh Bay. Things to do on Saturday
We LOVE the Bondi Farmer's Market-it's the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. Park the kids at the little playground in the school grounds (if they're good, reward them with an amazing pure fruit icy pole), grab a coffee and excellent farm fresh brekkie and shop to your hearts content.
Things to do on Sunday
The Sydney Writers’ Festival’s Big Top For Little People is a special place where children explore storytelling and have loads of fun! Characters come to life as authors share their stories through dance, music and art. There will be fabulous free events all day from 10am-3pm. Check website for scheduled times for individual events.
Things to do on Monday
How about checking out the Wiggles exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum today, a great way to spend the morning or afternoon with preschoolers. Admission to the exhibition is FREE with museum entry ($10 adults, Children 4-15 $5 + kids under 4 are FREE). Museum open from 9.30am – 5pm. Allow a good couple of hours to get through everything.
