Things to do on Saturday
With plenty of noise, colour and excitement, the flamboyant and wickedly humorous Lion Dances are a much-loved feature of Chinese New Year. They are on between 12 and 4 in Chinatown this weekend. Bring the family and then share a meal at one of the many nearby restaurants.
Things to do on Sunday
Don't miss the the magical Twilight Parade to celebrate Chinese New Year tonight! The parade will weave its way, dragon-style from Town Hall to Chinatown from 7pm, under the beauty of an evening sky illuminated by giant projections on Sydney’s buildings. Experience street art, dancers and acrobats, and as dusk descends, a giant dragon head leading the Parade through our city.

Celebrate Chinese New Year-the year of the dragon- at the Powerhouse Museum! The Museum’s friendly blue dragon is returning to help celebrate and your brave little warrior can join in the daily Dragon Taming sessions at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Make sure you check out the wonderful Harry Potter exhibition while you're there!
Things to do on Tuesday
Adele's Action Kids is a popular hour of high intensity indoor fun, song, dance and play for 0-5's. Sessions run every week day morning in various locations around the East. No need to book just drop in. $15 per child, $20 for 2. Don't miss the Saturday Morning 'Boogaloo' for kids aged 9 months - 3 years in Alexandria (right next to the big Bunnings, so perfect for dads!).  Visit the website for more info www.actionkids.com

Things to do on Thursday
Does your little one LOVE creepy crawlies? Check out this new event at the Australian Museum :  Mini Explorers - Spiders. Kids have the chance to observe, (gently!) touch real specimens and discover more about arachnids. Numbers are limited, so make sure you book ahead here. This is a weekly program so if you miss out on tix, book for next week's event.
