The Best Mazes Near Sydney
The perfect place to take the kids when you just want them to get lost...
Mazes are pretty magical places. With hedges so tall that you'll be completely lost and loving it, these babies have been the subject of art, myth, and magic for centuries. You might be surprised to know that you don't need to enter a fantasy world to take a stroll through one- all you have to do is hop in the car! Here are our top picks for mazes in NSW:
Amazement, Wyong Creek
The Amazement Fun Park & Farm is a bit of a paradise for families. As well as a farm animal petting zoo, pony rides, horse and cart rides, giant board games and an awesome kid's playground, you'll find multiple magical mazes.
Harper's Mansion, Berrima
The 2-acre grounds of this circa-1835 mansion are home to a beautiful maze. While it's not the biggest on our list, it's a real beauty, sharing its abode with rose gardens and herb, fruit and veggie patches. Please note: Harper's Mansion is closed until further notice.
Bago Maze, Wauchope
This is the largest hedge maze in NSW, covering 10,000m 2! Nestled in the Bago Vineyards, this 2-metre tall maze can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 1-hour to complete, depending on your escape-artist capabilities. You can even take the Bago Maze Challenge, where you will have to search for hidden items and musical instruments within the maze, and cross bridges and boardwalks built deep within the green labyrinth.
Granties Maze, Foxground
Granties Maze is a simplistic fun park with 18-hole mini-golf, a sand digger that kids can have a go at, paddle boats, archery, ponies, bumper cars, a merry go round, and a maze made of 2000 photinias trees.
Mayfield Garden, Oberon
Bloomin' magical! At Mayfield Garden, there is so much for families: a huge plant nursery, roaming chickens, a worm farm, an onsite cafe with a paddock-to-plate menu, farm animals, a giant chess board, man-made waterfalls and "a huge European inspired boxed hedge". Once you reach the middle, ring the victory bell! Mayfield is located about 2 hours and 45 minutes from Sydney or 40 minutes from Bathurst so make a country weekend of it~
