Cabbage Tree Bay, Shelley Beach & Fairy Bower Pool

Cabbage Tree Bay stretches from the end of Manly beach and wraps around the Shelly Beach Headland. It is an ideal spot for scuba diving and snorkeling because of its clear and shallow waters. The Bay is filled with unique marine life such as the Eastern Blue Groper, the Weedy Sea dragon, Gloomy Octopus and you might even be lucky enough to see a Little Penguin.

The Bay leads to quiet and sheltered Shelly Beach-where you’ll find plenty of golden sand, rocks for the kids to clamber across and a reserve with shady trees. There is also a beach kiosk and the lovely and very kid friendly Le Kiosk cafe. A short walk down Marine Parade will lead you to lovely Fairy Bower Rockpool. A tiny gem of a pool, it is guarded by 2 graceful sculptures and has some of the best views in Sydney.

From Manly or Shelly Beach walk along Marine Parade to observe the sculptures on the Cabbage Tree Bay Eco Walk and gain an insight into Cabbage Tree Bay’s unique marine life, plants, animals, history and attractions. The walk is pram friendly and easy enough for even the youngest members of the family to enjoy.
