Sydney Living Museums’ winter program is full of fun experiences to entertain the kids and enjoy as a family!

From bush tucker workshops to art making, convicts to star gazing, exhibitions and a family fair – there’s something to suit the interests of every child.

Family Fair
Bring the family along to Rouse Hill House & Farm for a day of fun and nostalgia. Try your hand at a range of old-fashioned activities and games, and enjoy story time and crafts. Experience farm life - feed the cows, ride a pony, and get up close and personal with the baby animals at the Petting Farm. Take a sneak peek inside Rouse Hill House and experience the 1880s schoolhouse with school mistress Mrs Fox.

Alphabetical Sydney: Creative Lab
Let your imagination run wild in this interactive exhibition that celebrates Sydney in all its diversity, from A to Z. Sydney is brought to life with a series of creative activities designed to capture your imagination and encourage you to think about the magic of the city, from the icons to the suburbs, from the mundane to the wondrous. Produced in collaboration with illustrator Antonia Pesenti and author Hilary Bell, creators of the best-selling book Alphabetical Sydney.

Convict Kids
Experience life as a convict at Elizabeth Farm. The table needs to be set, the clothes to be washed, the bed needs to be made and there are so many other jobs to do! Will you earn your ticket of leave?

Bush Tucker
Search for bush tucker plants with Aboriginal guides from Muru Mittigar around Rouse Hill House and Farm. Learn about traditional bush foods and make a traditional johnnycake. Then sit down to your well-earned tucker!

Earn Your Tucker

Make a Story, Tell a Story
Be inspired by the historic house and collection to make an artwork using modelling materials.

Family Nightlight Tour
Join us as the sun goes down for our first family nightlight tour at Vaucluse House. Illuminated only by candles, the house takes on a life of its own after dark.

Stargazing at Rouse Hill
