The Archibald Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW

Sydney's most talked about portrait competition is back for another year! See this year's winner plus all of the finalists facing off for the prestigious Archibald Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW. 

The Archibald is Australia’s favourite art award with a who’s who of Australian culture – from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists - on display, and a record number of entries received this year. 

The Wynne Prize for the best Australian landscape painting and the Sulman Prize for the best subject, genre or mural painting will also be on show

Visit the exhibition to vote for your favourite portrait in the People’s Choice award and  see how the kids fared this year at the Young Archie exhibition showcasing portraits by artists between the ages of 5 and 18. 

This exhibition has been set up yo insooire young artists with children’s labels, a children’s trail and an activity sheet with ideas for creating  portraits at home.

Please note: Due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions, tickets are dated and timed and some sessions and days are sold out.
