Skateboarding And Surfing Artist Shaun Gladwell At The MCA

If your kid is into skateboarding or surfing, take this as an opportunity for a fun family museum outing, as one of Australia’s most famous contemporary artists has a new exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Shaun Gladwell has been engaged with skateboarding, surfing, and other types of urban sports for almost two decades. He is best known for his immersive videos representing the body in motion – flying across the surface of the ocean on a surfboard, or twisting and turning on his skateboard. The exhibition Pacific Undertow will showcase the many works of this video-artist pioneer, from his early drawings and videos to Virtual Reality installations.
