Rainbow Love Parade: Workshop For Kids

Let the kids get creative this Mardi Gras season and dress up, parade and dance at Broadway Sydney!

Broadway Shopping Centres Rainbow Love Parade is an inspiring visual display designed for children, where they will get to make, do and play for 45 minutes of fun.

Make a Mardi Gras Costume

Drag Queens, Hannah Conda or Jacqui St. Hyde will gift your child their very own ‘Drag Bag’ of dress-up items including; capes, wigs, pom poms, necklaces, headbands and much more. The Queen’s will encourage kids to get crafty with every item in the bag – which ultimately creates their very own ready-to-wear costume for the parade.

Dance And Have Fun

DC encourages the children to stand up tall on their coloured love heart as he teaches them a fun and entertaining dance to the music. They practice all the moves to the song and helps them keep their feet and hands moving with the beat. Once children are confident with all the moves they're now ready for the big parade.

Parade Through Broadway Shopping Centre

The Drag Queens and DC lead everyone in their costumes through the centre as they wave to shoppers. Together they parade around the centre as one big rainbow family, showcasing their new dance moves.

Overall the experience aims to give kids their very own taste of the Mardi Gras festive spirit and create together as a team – it provides parents the opportunity to watch their kids exude joy as they play dress ups, dance and perform to a local audience. In addition, parents will have the opportunity to take photos with their kids (who get to keep all their dress-up items) in a mirror ball room and underneath rainbow love heart arches.
