Sydney Christmas kicks off on Saturday 25 November with the lighting of the Martin Place Christmas Tree. Santa will arrive in a cycle driven sleigh and light Sydney’s majestic Martin Place Christmas Tree.

Share your festive message on the Martin Place Christmas tree for everyone to see via sydxmastree.com.au  Treat yourself to a special Christmas sweet at the GPO Dessert Bar while you are there. Choirs will perform at the Martin Place Christmas Tree every night leading up to Christmas and every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday night in Pitt Street Mall.

Christmas Lights in the City

You can also journey through the Boulevarde of Light in Pitt Street Mall with nearly 80,000 twinkling lights overhead.

Ground projections will be at Martin Place and Customs House Square from dusk until 1am commencing Saturday 25 November to Monday 25 December.

Christmas shopping in the city promises to be full of festive cheer. Street choirs provide the perfect accompaniment for evening shoppers, and you’ll find everything on your Christmas shopping list in Sydney’s unique shops, boutiques, arcades and department stores.

Christmas Concerts

Enjoy the month long Christmas celebration with concerts in Martin Place and Christmas on the Green, Hyde Park (Saturday 25 December). The fun doesn’t stop in the city. Pop along to one of the free village Christmas Concerts at Alexandria (Saturday 2 December), Surry Hills (Sunday 3 December), Rushcutters Bay (Saturday 9 December) or Rosebery (Sunday 10 December). Santa will make a special appearance at every concert.
