Pack your bags and head to Bathurst for 16 days of fun for all ages these winter school holidays. There is something for everyone both day and night with entertainment ranging from light shows, rides, ice skating, signature food events, live music and more. Highlights include Kids' Day, with its daytime disco and cool activities, and Pets' Day, where you can bring your furry friends along for pet-friendly activities. 

Illuminations and Lights

Drive around Bathurst and take in the vibrant colours, lights and lots of character on business' front windows and outside homes. 

Each night, journey through the historic heart of Bathurst on the Illumination Light Walk, with stunning light shows at numerous locations around town. Vibrant colours, lights and animated installations will interpret the 2021 Bathurst Winter Festival theme: People and Place.

The illuminations will commence on 26 June with Armada Opening Night, when along with other light shows there will be a BYO Beamer projection that you can watch from Tremain’s Mill. The BYO Beamer free light show event will see small, independently crafted films and creative projections on show outdoors at Tremain’s Mill, on the festival's Armada Opening Night, 26 June 2021, from 6pm to 9pm.

Winter Playground

Open daily from 9am - 9pm, the Winter Playground features a two-storey carousel, a giant ferris wheel and other carnival rides.

Cost:       FREE entry. $5 per person, per ride

Brew and Bite

On 2 July (4pm - 9pm) and 3 July (midday - 9pm) the Winter Playground and Machattie Park will be hosting Brew & Bite, where you can see roving street performers, magical light installations, ice skating, rides, market stalls and plenty of music to entertain all ages.  You can also taste a world of great food, mulled wine and craft beers.

When:      2 - 3 July 2021 
Cost:        Free entry to Winter Playground. Show rides, market stall produce, food and drinks are all at your own cost.

Bathurst Ice Rink

The McDonald's Bathurst Ice Rink will be open daily from 9am - 9pm and is open to children aged 3+ years of age. Bring the kids along for a skate, or leave them at home and come along to a 'Skate and Date' night on Tuesday 29 June or 6 July at the 6pm, 7pm or 8pm sessions.

Cost:       Children 3 - 14 years: $8 per person.
                Adults (15+) are $12 per person.
                Skating aids are $8 each.
