Christmas in the City
Merry Christmas Sydney! Kick off Christmas in the City like never before! Join in the fun on Saturday 24 November from 6.30pm to eat, drink, shop and sing your way around a Christmas playground.

The heart of Sydney will be alive with roaming entertainers, magicians, roller-skating baubles, stage shows, choirs, lights, giveaways and decorations. With an array of late night shopping options, there’ll be fun for everyone.

Performers will include Jimmy Giggle, Justine Clarke, Sam Moran, SplashDance and Nay Nay. We’ll have loads of activities like gingerbread icing, decoration making and letter writing to Santa.

Santa will arrive in a brand new sleigh – stay close to say hello as he rides his way through the event. The Martin Place Christmas Tree will light up at 8.30pm as fireworks illuminate Sydney’s spectacular skyline.

Christmas in Martin Place and Pitt Street Mall
You’re invited to celebrate four weeks of Sydney Christmas in Martin Place. The GPO Grand Dessert Bar will be back for the fifth year in a row, so you can treat yourself to a tempting range of gelato, house-made sweets, cakes, coffee, cold beverages and savoury options.

With a perfect view of the Christmas tree from the casual seating, it’s the ideal place to get comfy and enjoy the choirs performing at the base of the tree each night.

Christmas shopping in the city will be full of festive cheer. Street choirs in Pitt Street Mall on Thursday nights and weekends provide the perfect accompaniment for evening shoppers. And you’ll find everything on your Christmas shopping list in Sydney’s unique shops, boutiques, arcades and department stores.

Pitt Street Mall will light up each night with a Canopy of Light – thousands of twinkling white lights overhead.

Their official charity partner, Variety – The Children’s Charity, works tirelessly to help children and families through difficult times. Through the season, please show them support where you can.
