If you’re looking for a fun activity that also encourages your child to be active, head to the Y NSW’s aquatic centres.

There’s always something to do here, from intensive swimming lessons during the school holidays to dive-in movie events and inflatable courses. If you simply want to cool off, jump into the pool for a casual swim. Parents, bubs, kids and teens can all join in the fun!

The Y also offers a Learn to Swim program, which supports young people to become confident swimmers and equips them with personal survival skills – not just for the pool, but for our waterways too. With the Y’s Learn to Swim program, your child will learn new techniques at each level and gain valuable physical and social skills too. Plus all students receive free access to the leisure pool outside of lesson time!

Lessons are led by the Y’s nationally accredited swimming instructors, who are highly qualified and passionate about teaching every child the joys of swimming.

The program also makes it easy for parents to know how their child is going, with regular feedback via an online portal on their progress and a recognition certificate after your child completes each level. Children are supported to progress through each level at their own pace.

Swimming lessons are open to babies as young as six months, children and adults. People of all swimming abilities are welcome.
