Southend Tennis Centre, offers a complete range of tennis programs for children and adults including professional coaching and public court hire. Located in South Strathfield, Sydney.

The coaching staff at Southend Tennis Centre have player and coach experience on a national and international level. They are dedicated to giving their players the best opportunity to reach their goals and to fulfil their potential. 

Southend Tennis Centre is managed by Meriden, one of Sydney’s leading independent schools, renowned for its academic and sporting achievements. The Meriden Tennis Academy’s team of professional coaches has nurtured some extraordinary talent in recent years, including:

  • Winner of the World Schools Tennis Challenge, Qatar 2015
  • Australian representative team for the World Schools Tennis Championships 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017
  • Tildesley Tennis Champions for a record eight consecutive years, 2010 – 2017
  • Players competing at ITF Tournaments, Junior Grand Slams and Nationals
  • This wealth of experience and highly successful coaching philosophy are integrated into the full range of Junior programs at Southend Tennis Centre.


Junior Programs
The Junior programs for girls and boys from 4 to 18 years of age, caters for players of all standards. The program is aligned with Tennis Australia’s ANZ Hot Shots philosophy of “Learning through Play” where children use modified courts and balls to develop their skills faster.

School Holiday Tennis Camps
Southend Tennis Centre offers exciting school holiday Tennis Camps for children and teenagers aged 5 to 16 years.

All levels of tennis ability are catered for, from beginner to experienced level. Activities are designed to help build the balance, hand-eye coordination and motor skills that are needed to play every sport and are particularly important in tennis.

The Tennis Camps are a great way to improve skills while having fun and meeting new friends.

Instruction is provided by the Southend Tennis Centre’s professional coaches and covers areas such as stroke production, court rules, modified match play with mini nets and full court match play.

Tennis Camps are held during the April, July, September and December school holidays.
