St Martins Youth❜s Performing Term 1 Workshops

Many young people come to St Martins because they want to be more confident. Some have energy to burn. Some love drama and want to pursue a professional career. While others just want to have fun and make new friends.

St Martins is a powerful and safe space where children and teens feel they belong and where evey student can explore their needs and passions. St Martins' Term 1 workshop program focuses on the young people’s strengths and interests, while also extending their social, emotional and physical skills through creative play.

St Martins' 5-8 yrs workshops:

Young people 5 to 8 are brimming with imagination and play. Their workshops harness the creativity of young people whilst instilling principles of focus and group work and building the confidence to speak your mind and share your ideas.

• Northcote High School  - Sat: 9.30am - 11am
• St Martins South Yarra - Sat: 9.30am - 11am
   

St Martins' 9-12 yrs workshops:

Young people 9 to 12 are full of energy, creativity and personality. Their awareness of the world is growing, along with their individuality. At this age the workshops will introduce principles of performing and theatre making, whilst allowing the young people to explore who they are and what they want to say.

• Northcote High School  - Thu: 4.30pm - 6.30pm and Sat: 11.30am - 1.30am
• St Martins South Yarra -  Sat: 11.30am - 1.30am
   

St Martins' Teens workshops:

Instead of teaching one acting method or merely leading the group, the workshop artists create a space where everyone can co-create together as artists. This can involve the workshop artists offering provocations, feedback and artistic responses based on equal exchange.

Their workshops offer a range of theatrical styles and explorations, asking the students to excavate everything and become well rounded performers and theatre-makers.

• Northcote High School  - Thu: 4.30pm - 6.30pm and Sat: 2.30pm - 4.30am
• St Martins South Yarra -  Sat: 2.30pm - 4.30am
