The New Felix Hotel In Sydney Takes Airport Hotels Sky High

By: Alex Harmon, ellaslist

Forget what you know about airport hotels! The Felix Hotel is a sophisticated, savvy take on what an airport hotel should be, transporting us back to the glory days of airline travel in the 60's (yes, before Jetstar).

The 150-room Felix by 8Hotels is just a short runway from Sydney Airport, with splashes of ‘ Catch Me If You Can ‘ cool.

Checking Into Felix

You don't check into a drab ground-floor lobby here - no no, here you are whisked up to the penthouse level where you have sweeping views of the airport. I don't know about you but I still find watching take-offs and landings exciting! Just like my three-year-old.

Cabin Pressure

The hotel is adorned with locally sourced art-filled walls and there's even a rooftop cinema. Naturally, the bedrooms are split into four different categories: economy, premium economy, business and first class. All rooms are fitted with power rain showers and 55-inch TVs, blackout curtains (awesome for jet-lagged travellers) and they also offer family suites, pet-friendly rooms with courtyard and a 24 hour gym.

Final Call

Rates: Premium economy rooms start from $126/night.
Where: 121 Baxter Road, Mascot, NSW, 2020
