Magic Mike Live is burning up the floor in Sydney and has just been extended due to popular demand, so there is no excuse to miss this funny, frisky show. See it. Thank me later.

If you’ve seen the Magic Mike movies you might have an idea of what this is all about. Basically, eye candy! Oh yes, there is a storyline, and some phenomenal dance routines, and drum playing and tap dancing and aerial acrobatics... but really the chiselled features and washboard abs take centre stage - and they don’t disappoint.

The show is actually the brainchild of the film’s Hollywood heartthrob Channing Tatum, and is a quality adults-only spectacle designed for women to unabashedly enjoy. Entertaining and empowering, it’s a celebration of female sexuality and the breakdown of stereotypes, and encourages women to get dressed up for a night of frivolous fun and fantasy! 

The opulent custom-built Arcadia Spiegeltent is the perfect backdrop for the 360-degree theatrics, and the diverse cast of global performers use every inch of the space to flaunt their daring dance moves, musical skills and muscular manhood. With ‘Magic Mike dollars’ in hand to show your appreciation and a bar service delivered to your seat, there’s not much else to do but sit back and soak up the view.

What You Need To Know

How long does the show go for?

It’s an action-packed 90-minute performance. There is no intermission.

Is there any nudity?

There is no full-frontal! The guys perform in a range of outfits from three-piece suits to y-fronts. One buff dancer does strip down completely, using a bowler hat to protect his modesty.

Will I be pulled up on stage?

No! There are audience members that are reluctantly dragged up on stage, but they quickly reveal themselves as performers who are part of the story. However, the dancers do get up close and personal with the audience throughout the evening.

Is it just a male strip show?

I like to think of it more as a cabaret! While it doesn’t shy away from the creative removal of clothing, Magic Mike Live gives equal attention to creating a burlesque-style production full of dancing,  acrobatics and theatrics, with mesmerizing stage lighting and props, and a killer soundtrack. There is also a titillating storyline woven through the performance with a sassy female MC at the helm.

How raunchy is it?

There is plenty of bumping and grinding, and some erotic dance sequences in a suspended bed and a steamy shower with a brilliant female dancer! Did I mention the whipped cream?
