A New State-of-the-art Health and Wellness Centre for Sydney

If there's one thing us Sydneysiders desperately need in the wake of lockdowns and homeschooling, it's a new state-of-the-art health and wellness centre. Well, ask and you shall receive! 

Fairfield City Council have revealed the design concepts for the transformation of Cabravale Leisure Centre, which will soon be home to Sydney's newest all-encompassing health and wellness retreat. Namaste!

Updates for Cabravale Leisure Centre

The community first heard about the proposal to rehabilitate their favourite aquatic centre back in September 2020 and now, just one year on, the council are giving the green light. $23.6-million will be splashed out to transform Cabravale Leisure Centre in the Western Sydney suburb of Cabramatta, with big plans to completely rejuvenate the existing space and turn it into a "specialised health and wellbeing precinct".

The development proposal by Fairfield City Council is extensive and includes refurbishing the existing pool at Cabramatta's foremost aquatic centre, plus a new 25-metre pool, and a new leisure pool with an outdoor deck and leisure area. But that's not all!

Cabramatta's New Health and Wellness Retreat

The health and wellness of the community is definitely on the agenda for the refurbishment of Cabravale Leisure Centre, with Fairfield City Mayor, Frank Carbone describing the transformation as a "one-stop-shop" for the community’s health and wellness needs. 

Along with state-of-the-art swimming pools and leisure areas, the new-look Cabravale Leisure Centre will have a new spa, sauna and steam room. For those with rehabilitative needs, the new 25-metre swimming pool will be specialised for fitness and rehabilitation programs, the gym expansion will have improved accessibility in mind, and an “innovative” indoor and outdoor gym space will host boot camps and other activities.

While an opening date hasn't yet been released, we can't wait to check out the new centre!
