There's so Much to Love About This Playground

Oatley Park
Oatley Park is located along the Georges River in Oatley.

For starters, this playground is MASSIVE! It's quite possibly the biggest playground we've seen in Sydney. Located alongside the Georges River in the Southern Sydney suburb of Oatley, the inclusive playground is a nature lover's dream. Constructed predominantly from natural materials, Oatley Park playground makes terrific use of the stunning natural surrounds of Oatley Park. The bushland setting and wooden equipment is a welcome change from your run-of-the-mill plastic and rubber playgrounds.

Easy Access

We found Oatley Park playground extremely easy to get to, although the road leading into the park is a one-way street - just something to be mindful of when leaving! Parking? Tick. Shade? Tick. Toilets? Tick - yup, this playground ticks all the right boxes and then some. Aside from oodles of features and play space to keep the kids busy, there are plenty of trees providing shady spots, covered picnic tables, barbecue facilities, and toilets no more than 200 metres away. The only thing missing is coffee nearby - sorry, you have to bring your own!

High-flying Adventures

Oatley Park Playground
Just look at the size of the tower and slide!

And now for the main feature - that gigantic climbing structure! Oatley Park's huge play tower is undoubtedly the major drawcard and it certainly delivers all the thrills. The 3-storey timber structure is absolutely ginormous and offers quite the adventure for brave kids. The huge winding slippery dip drops from the very top level of the play tower and in order to get to it, you've got some serious climbing, bending and maneuvering to do through ropes, ladders, tunnels and more.

There's a smaller slide on the bottom level for the littlies (and not so adventurous), plus a climbing net, lower play deck, worm tunnel and gangplank.

Everyone can Play

Oatley Park Playground
Accessible play is available for everyone.

Oatley Park playground is part of the NSW Government's Everyone Can Play Program, and as such, over 80 per cent of the playground is accessible for children of all abilities. This includes a toddler sensory and play area, swings, a sandpit, balancing beams, and of course plenty of space to run wild.

The extensive flying fox is another great feature of the park and includes 2 lines - one with an all-purpose seat and the other an all-purpose seat with a safety harness. Kids will also love going for a play on the stationary steam train that's another cool feature of the park. Please ensure adult supervision at all times around the train.
