Is there anything that screams "Christmas" louder than piling into the family car and driving around oohing and ahhing over the best Christmas lights in town? It's become a tradition in Brisbane in recent years, thanks to the wonderful 4KQ Christmas Lights Competition. They offer great bus tours of the lights too, but they run pretty late if you've got little ones, so around here we're fans of the do-it-yourself approach. If you're lucky, the kids will fall asleep and you'll have a beautiful peaceful drive around the suburbs.
We know there are some hazy borders around what constitutes the southside of Brisbane, but we're making some bold choices and drawing the line. The main thing is that there are lights not too far from you that are easy to get to!
