    Great concept

I have taken toddlers to Karens messy spot.. they had a ball!
She is doing a fabulous job and encourages children to express themselves through play and craft.
It’s a great place to go on a wet day with little “artistes”
I agree with comments regarding old clothing… There are smocks for kids and bowls of water to wash your hands.
The kids I took especially liked painting the walls :) something that is not allowed at home.
    Great fun!

    The Messy Spot

I’ve been taking my kids there since it opened and they love it. The staff are really friendly and fantastic at sharing ideas when you need assistance. Also really good for parents with a creative streak who want to sit with their kids and do craft together. The best part?? Someone else cleans up!!!

    Messy Spot

We love the Messy Spot! My kids and I have been there for craft during the week, had a weekend birthday party there, and gone to other kid’s birthday parties there too. Karen and her team are enthusiastic, helpful and full of energy. The activities are great, the atmosphere is lots of fun, and the area is colourful and spacious. It was wonderful holding a party there – lots of activities to choose from and we could cater for the range of ages of kids attending the party. Karen provided very helpful suggestions for the party and it was a great success. A great place for weekday art and craft or a weekend party!

    Visits to the Messy Spot

My 3 year grand-daughter, Isabella, and I love visiting the Messy Spot. It is a cheerful room with Wiggles or other chld appropriate music to sing along with or to move to. Isabella loves painting her hands as well as all the other sponge shapes or wooden blocks and either imprinting on the washable white walls or on sheets of paper to take home to show Mummy and Daddy. Then there is play dough where the shapes can be made to look like anything that you want as you add animal eyes, sparkles or coloured toothpicks. Other activities include making little gifts to take home to Mummy and Daddy. Karen and her team are good at making sure that the little ones are never bored with new activities offered when their short attention spans start to wane. All in all, a fun place to keep returning to.

    Great place for Parties

I had my 5 yr olds daughter birthday party at Messy Spot a few weeks ago and it was great. The kids had a ball painting masks that they could take home and painting a full size sketch of my daughter on a sheet and generally making a mess. Karen was great with the kids and I could sit back and relax and enjoy the party too without stressing about the mess and cleaning up! The parents also felt secure about dropping their kids off, leaving and having 2 hours to themselves!
I highly recommend The Messy Spot for mid weeek play or for birthday parties.

Birthday Party at the Messy Spot

When we had James’ third birthday at the Messy Spot I was 38 weeks pregnant and not even sure if I would be able to be there! Karen organised everything for the kids as well as the snacks and coffees for the adults and a fantastic “Thomas” birthday cake. Luckily the baby held on and I was there for a great day of painting, play dough, eating, singing and dancing. We now go back on weekdays and the new baby Emily watches the big kids making mess and cant wait to join in when she is a bit older!

    Messy Spot

We love this place. The staff are so helpful and friendly. My 2 year old loves it and finds something new to enjoy every visit.

This has been one of my favourite activities to do with my 2 year old son. It’s GREAT value for money, especially compared with a course because:

    1. you don’t have to commit to 10 weeks: it’s drop-in when you like

    2. you’re not bound to a set day or time so you don’t fret about missing a week or running late in the mornings

    3. you can stay as long as you like

    The staff LOVE kids.

It’s fun letting them get as messy as they like, with no clean up for mum!

This is going to become a regular one for us I think.

WE have been here a few times and we absolutely love it, great place rainy day or not. We pay $15.50 and you get to make your own play doh, roll it, fold it, glitter it, cut it, stick matches in it, add some more sparkles, whatever you want basically. When you get bored with all that fun, you then get a painting table set up for you where you can paint till your hearts content, on the paper, on the walls, all over yourself, wherever you feel like, and best of all no-one tells you off! I must admit the first time we went I found it really difficult to stop myself from cleaning up and telling my daughter to put less paint on the brush or don’t spill this or that!
This is why this is such a great place for kids to explore through touch and creativity. We found out about the messy spot through ellaslist so thank you ellaslist – this is a great place to go. There is no time limit but we usually spend about 90 mins to 2hrs here. We have been by ourselves and there is always people there but I think its a great idea for small groups of kids too!
The staff are also really helpful and great with the kids. Old clothes are recommended, there is aprons but my daughter refuses to wear them! Surprisingly we have not spoiled any clothes yet, I think all the paint goes on the walls and paintings there. She also usually likes to add a bit of colour to her playdoh before we leave. And best of all you get to take it all home, so that keeps little hands busy for the rest of the day when you get home!
