There is real sense of openness and wildness when visiting Maroubra Beach, The surf is pounding and the South headland so completely clear of any man made structures you could easily mistake yourself for being much further afield than Sydney. This is one of Australia’s 2 surfing reserve beaches ......

Love, Love, Love Neilsen Park. Best for great shade, family picnics with safe swimming and few waves. This beautiful dog-free park and beach in Vaucluse is a sure fast family favourite, the gently sloping beach has a netted swimming area and is protected from waves. The surrounding natural parkland is ......

Next to Rose Bay Marina and Pier restaurant there’s a lovely strip of beach edged with trees and grass with an amazing view over Rose Bay harbour. It’s so quiet and so peaceful apart from the occasional dog walker, but the best bit, come late afternoon a lot of the beach becomes speckled in shade. ......

One of the most idyllic park-playground-beach combos in the East. Excellent for avoiding the crowds, peace and quiet, safe baby and toddler swimming & finding shade on a hot day. Hidden half way up a residential street and down a steep lane lies one of the best-kept secrets in the east. The absolutely ......

‘Glamarama’ Beach is truly beautiful, but not a good option for babies and toddlers as this beach is considered the most dangerous patrolled beach in NSW with constant rips and large waves. The sand is lovely clean and flat and the beach kiosk is very kid friendly and does nice coffee and snacks. ......

Beautiful Bronte, a stunning beach and huge park space. Bronte Beach can get some killer surf, but head for the Bogey Hole, a shallow enclosed natural pool on the South side of the beach, it’s really excellent for the kids with it’s smooth sloping sand, gentle lapping waves and plenty of rock pools ......
