If the closest your little city slicker has been to a farm is a petting zoo at one of Sydney’s urban markets or fairs, then a visit to family friendly Calmsley Hill City Farm is an absolute must.  Located in Abbotsbury, 40 minutes out of Sydney, the farm is a place where the whole family can get up close to a range of native and farmyard animals-you can do everything from milk a cow to feed a kangaroo!  There is even sheep shearing, tractor rides and a stock whip show to keep you and the littlies entertained. Ellaslist opinion: A 40 minute car drive takes you a million miles away from Sydney city’s hustle and bustle. This both an educational and really fun family outing that caters to toddlers, pre-schoolers, older children and grown ups alike.  It’s a great lesson for the kids to discover that eggs and milk don’t just come from the supermarket shelves and there are loads of interesting shows and demonstrations all day long.
